I want that to be a thing and inexpensive.
I couldn’t imagine not being able to see and being transported around in a car. So much going on and not being able to experience it.
My step-father ran two elderly homes. One had a lady who was totally blind and deaf. He and my mother used to communicate with her by taking her hand and folding certain fingers back into the palm of her hand and touching certain parts of her fingers or palm of her hand to spell out words.
She used to love going out on visits to the coast with other residents. She didn’t stay outside and sit in the wind or anything but would sit in a cafe away from the shale beach. Sitting at the window with the warmth of the sun on her face, enjoying a cup of tea and a scone.
Being blind in a car removes all experiences of the surrounding areas as you can’t truly appreciate the sounds going on outside the vehicle at speed.
In a day and age of inclusiveness, that should be extended to everyone regardless of ability.

Ford must be sick of blind people touching their interiors.

Nor can I. When I first met her all I could think was, ‘what quality of life does she have in that she just sits there.
But when you see her smile as she gets on the bus and smiles as she’s sat at the cafe window.
It’s quite incredible.

I live in North Texas. My passengers would always think it’s broken.
